Olympiad
Sri Lanka Artificial Intelligence Olympiad (SLAIO) is the premier national competition in AI for high-school students. Top performers will represent Sri Lanka at the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI), held in Singapore — 4th to 10th July 2027.

IOAI is an annual competition for high school students from around the world to showcase their skills in solving AI-related tasks. The competition focuses on the intersection of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science.

SLAIO 2027
SLAIO 2027 is the second edition of the Sri Lanka Artificial Intelligence Olympiad. The competition consists of three rounds: the Open Round, the Qualifier Round, and the Final Round.
Eligibility Criteria
You must meet all of the following conditionsRound Details
Open Round
A 90-minute online MCQ test that can be completed anytime between now and Nov 30. No AI knowledge or programming is required.
Free Training Program
A training program teaching both programming skills and AI concepts is provided between the Open Round and the Qualifier Round. Complete the Open Round as early as possible to get access!
Qualifier Round
A proctored online programming round, available for all students scoring 30 or more points in the Open Round. This round will test your AI skills.
Final Round
An onsite round held in Colombo for the top scorers of the Qualifier Round. This round uses AI tasks similar to the IOAI format. The top 4 students will be selected to the IOAI team.
